TRAILS

 

Challenge Trail:  The Challenge Trail (white blaze) starts in the Trathel Unit and ends at Willie’s Place Field.  It is about a mile in length and moderate in difficulty.

Blueberry Hill Trail:  The Blueberry Hill Trail (blue blaze) starts in the Traethel Unit and ends on the Challenge Trail about five minutes from the Trathel Unit. It is a fairly short, but steep trail. The Five Ridge Trail (red blaze) runs between Challenge Trail and Blueberry Trail.

Creek Trail:  The Creek Trail (orange blaze) has four entrances along the camp road. Two entrances are between the Trathel Unit and the Pinecrest Unit. There is one entrance between the Pinecrest Unit and the Oakridge Unit. The fourth entrance is between the Oakridge Unit and Willie’s Place. The trail is .75 mi. in length and is a relatively easy hike. 

Virginia Trail:  The Virginia Trail (bright pink blaze), a short and moderately steep trail, connects the Creek Trail with the Challenge Trail.

Valley View Trail:  The Valley View Trail is approximately four miles long. It follows the camp road past Willie’s Place to the top of the ridge and features a view of the Roanoke Valley.  The trail continues along a road through the woods to connect with the Blueberry Hill Trail near the Trathel Unit.
